The fiscally
conservative members
of the Republican
Main Street
Partnership are
interested in
finding ways to
improve the
efficiency and
equity of the
federal government.
“We are concerned
about the growth of
the budget deficit
and would like a
greater emphasis in
2006 on fiscal
responsibility,”
said Sarah
Chamberlain,
RMSP Executive
Director.
“We need to
focus on
prioritizing
spending so the
federal government
is both fair and
equitable while at
the same time
efficient and
restrained.”
The
recent tax cuts have
allowed Americans to
place more of their
earning aside for
retirement,
increased the level
of ownership, and
has given many
citizens a greater
fiscal security than
ever before. Main
Street would like to
address problems
with the Alternative
Minimum Tax and the
Estate Tax so that
it does not penalize
earners and savers. |
