The time to
address critical
shortages in our
approach to
technology and
innovation is today.
Thanks to
a long history as
the global leader in
these areas we are
have a considerable
head start. However,
as the global
economy heats up and
other countries
begin to specialize
in technological
sub-areas, we must
act to fortify our
position as the
world’s innovation
leader.
“To
incentivize both
pure and applied
research will
guarantee that
tomorrow great
advances
come from American
shores” said Sarah
Chamberlain,
Executive Director
of Republican Main
Street Partnership.
“We have the ability
through legislation
to encourage and
assist our
technological
leaders in this
country to continue
their quest to
invent the next
great product,
whether that be a
cure for a disease
or another way to
communicate and
collaborate.”
The
number of US
household with a
high speed internet
connection has grown
steadily over the
last five years.
However many rural
and inner city
neighborhoods are
given the
opportunity to
participate in these
technological
advances. RMSP would
like to see a
significant increase
in broadband
penetration in all
households, but
especially in
isolated rural
communities.
Advances in current
technology will make
this possible and
therefore bring a
greater number of
Americans,
regardless of
location, into the
global forum.
